The history of Gino Minardi and his family's restaurant business

Since the early 1990's, the  Minardi family has been proud to call  Round Rock, Texas their home. During the past 16+ years, Gino and his family have shared their fresh and authentic Italian-American cuisine proudly with the Round Rock, Georgetown and Austin communities.

Born in Gela, Sicily, Angelo (Gino) Minardi, began baking bread as a boy. In the mid 1950's, Gino came to America, where he met his lovely wife Angela in Brooklyn, the daughter of Italian immigrants. Gino began his long baking and pastry career in Long Island, New York, where he began his family. Maria, Teresa, Gina, Christina and Emanuele also began working with their father at an early age, mastering the art of baking and Italian pastry making. After many years of working two jobs, baking to support his family, Gino, along with his brother and brother-in-law opened their first bakery in West Patterson, New Jersey. The warm weather and lifestyle then led Gino and his family to Galveston, Texas. There he opened a bakery where his children also worked. The Gino's of Galveston is still open to this day, now being run by Gino's brother Luciano and his children. It also offers a full dinner menu.

After many years of hard work, Gino found his children relocating to the Austin area, so, naturally, he and Angela followed. Along with the help of his daughter Teresa, Gino's opened in Round Rock in 1993. Beginning as a pizzeria, today Gino's offers a full lunch and dinner menu featuring Gino's own family recipes. Every morning, the sauce is prepared by Gino. He uses fresh quality ingredients to ensure every pot of sauce is perfect. With the help of Gino's nephew Emanuele, also an immigrant from Gela, Sicily, Gino's dough and bread is made fresh daily.

Gino's allows you to dine on fine Italian-American cuisine while relaxing in a casual and comfortable atmosphere. You may choose to feast on Gino's fresh chicken, veal and seafood entrees while enjoying a fine bottle of wine; or gather with friends and family for pizza and beer.
